Busan Museum of Art opens a metaverse venue with three exhibitions

On November 29, 2024, the Busan Museum of Art announced that its 'Busan Museum of Art Metaverse' project, a museum experience set in a virtual space, will launch on December 24.
The project was developed after the museum signed a metaverse joint research and development agreement in April with The Crossing Lab, which the article identifies as a game company.
Three exhibitions will be placed in the metaverse, each planned and assembled from works already in the museum's collection. 'Collection 99.999' holds 99 works by 81 artists, 'Busan Art, The Beginning' holds 156 works by 15 artists, and 'BMA' (Busan museum of art's Media Art) holds 19 works by 12 artists.
Visitors pick the exhibition they want, and its works are installed across the whole of the virtual museum for anyone to walk through. The museum will explain how to connect on its website sometime in December.
